IIC Steering Committee to Manage Efforts to Develop, Test and Promote Industrial Internet Standards
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—September 10, 2015—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the Industrial Internet of Things connectivity platform company, today announced that CEO Stan Schneider has been re-elected to the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) Steering Committee for a second term. Over the past year the IIC has presented ten use cases, announced the Industrial Internet Reference Architecture (IIRA) initial release and launched six testbeds. The IIC also recently announced they passed the 200-member mark just 18 months after it was formed. RTI is a strong investor in the IIC; the company chairs several committees, is the co-lead of three testbeds and supports extensive research across energy, transportation and medical industries. The IIC Steering Committee will continue to focus on establishing an Industrial IoT-wide standardized architecture.
Schneider was re-elected by vote of the membership and will serve an additional one-year term as the small-industry membership representative. He will continue to work alongside the founding members from AT&T, GE, Cisco, IBM and Intel as well as three other rotating steering committee seats.
"The Industrial Internet Consortium is the preeminent driver of the most exciting technology transformation of our time," said Stan Schneider, CEO of RTI. "RTI invests heavily in the IIC because I personally believe in the mission, market, organization and opportunity for all companies. I have been honored to serve on the Steering Committee for the past year and play a role in bringing several advancements to market, such as the IIRA. I look forward to serving another term and will work hard to improve partnership and funding opportunities for the organization over the next year."
