RTI to Provide Communications Software and Engineering Support for the Land Command Support System
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—January 21, 2015—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the real-time infrastructure software company, today announced its communications software will be incorporated into the Government of Canada's Land Command Support System (LCSS), which integrates numerous Army-wide command and control, communications and computing systems through one tactical system. General Dynamics Canada has purchased six licenses as well as engineering services for RTI's communications software to support the exchange of data between terminals within vehicles, ensuring that all soldiers within the vehicle have access to the same information.
This ability to leverage technology across the Armed Forces increases the efficiency of sending and handling data and supports soldiers in accomplishing their mission.
"The Land Command Support System is one of the Army's most critical tools that help to save lives and win battles," said the Honourable Peter Gordon MacKay in awarding the LCSS support contracts in 2009. "These contracts will ensure the Canadian Forces will continue to receive the cutting edge technology it needs to get the job done."
RTI Connext® DDS software is built on the Data Distribution Service standard developed by the Object Management Group (OMG). The data-centric nature of Connext DDS will provide a decoupled, scalable, fault-tolerant architecture with an easy upgrade path for future functionalities.
"Our technology is superior in providing interoperable, scalable and reliable performance that integrates seamlessly with other components from different organizations," said David Barnett, VP of Products and Markets at RTI. "In working with General Dynamics Canada and the Canadian Government, our objective is to provide the most advanced communications platform for the LCSS and improve the interoperability of this crucial tactical system."
