Aerospace Tech Week 2021, Europe's largest showcase of aerospace technology and services for commercial and defense aircraft, is coming up fast! This will be the first international aerospace event in two years, so I expect it to be well-attended with industry personnel eager to finally meet in person. The latest numbers show that over 300 airlines, 1,500 OEMs and 150+ global technology suppliers are confirmed to be at this event.
Held on November 3-4 at the Diagora Congress Center in Toulouse in southeastern France, this free-to-attend exhibition will feature over 150 leading aerospace tech companies. For that reason alone, it’s an essential event for both aerospace customers and suppliers. The conference agenda covers all aspects of aerospace technology, with dedicated sections for Avionics, Connected Aircraft, Flight Ops IT, MRO IT, Testing and the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) standard, along with technology workshops and certified training. This will be the first time this event is held in Toulouse, which also happens to be the home of the head office of Airbus SE.
The FACE Pavilion is a new addition to this year’s show. This section is dedicated to the The Open Group FACE™ Consortium Technical Standard and Business Approach, a ten-year effort by over 100 government and industry entities to create an open, data-centric military avionics solution based upon global aerospace standards. The results of this effort are published at The Open Group FACE Documents and Tools Download web site, and all documents are available for free. Over a dozen presentations will be delivered in the FACE Pavilion covering all aspects of FACE technologies and certified FACE-conformant products.
The RTI Connext® software framework is well-known for embracing A&D industry standards such as Data Distribution Service™ (DDS), FACE™ and SOSA™. In fact, Connext underpins the first FACE Transport Service Segment (TSS) certified conformant solution. RTI is honored to be presenting four speaking sessions at Aerospace Tech Week 2021:

- Wednesday, 3 November (12 p.m.). Andre Odermatt: “How Data Distribution Services (DDS) Brings Interoperability to Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Certified Conformant Systems.”
- Thursday, 4 November (9 a.m.). Andre Odermatt: “Securing Communication Between FACE Applications Using Connext® DDS Secure.”
- Thursday, 4 November (10 a.m.). Chip Downing: “Using a Connectivity Framework to Expand Capabilities in Complex IMA Systems.”
